Since a work on Teachers Manual going forward in big steps, we could already present quite a large package of information to our experts. .These are special music teachers, that are not envolved in a daily work of project team, but they are following our work and giving suggestions and sharing ideas of material for the Teachers Manual. Expert meeting took place in Tallinn, April 16 – 17. There we had a discussion of songs – what songs?, why these?, ideas for improvement. Every partner was presenting its choice and telling about possibilities and activities. That way we got many good suggestions and ideas. Thanks a lot to our experts! And the work on Teachers Manual continues. The next step – to prepare all information in one style of layout and find a designer of a book.

Seminar in Riga had kind of the same agenda that meetings in Tallin and Helsinki. We had a partner meeting, where we discussed our future plans and issues about Teachers Manual. Our disscussions were really hot, but it’s necessarry if we hope for a good result. Than, of course, we showed our guests, what happens in Latvia in special music education area. Day care centre “Saule” was a good example of that. We had a nice concert of “Colour orchestra” of the day care centre and it was suprisingly good and musicians could play in different styles and different instruments. Teacher Ineta was really inspiring. In day care centre they do also much of different handicraft.

The last day, as usually, was the teachers seminar. We were very suprised, that so many people came and that they were so interested about the subject. During event we had a small concert, given by students of Pāvuls Jurjāns Music School, presentations of our partners – Tolaram Centre (Teachers Ene and Koidu) and Resonaari (Markku and Kaarlo). Everybody went home very enspired and we hope to have more such seminars in the future.

Tolaram Foundation’s annual tradition is to hold winter party in the end of January. The idea came as during Christmas we all are very busy in attending different Christmas events, but the beginning of the year is quite silent. So we thought to start the year with the party. This year we all – students, their families and friends – gathered on 27th of January. We had a foreign guest from Singapore as well partying with us. Our program started with traditional concert, where everybody could show what they have learnt during the year. Every student could surprise with something. We all loved the activities what could be done together, this time drum band. And of course not mentioning dancing. What party it is without dancing. Many thanks to our music teacher Ene, Gerttu-Maria’s and Anu’s family who helped to
arranged our party table.
