Seminar in Riga had kind of the same agenda that meetings in Tallin and Helsinki. We had a partner meeting, where we discussed our future plans and issues about Teachers Manual. Our disscussions were really hot, but it’s necessarry if we hope for a good result. Than, of course, we showed our guests, what happens in Latvia in special music education area. Day care centre “Saule” was a good example of that. We had a nice concert of “Colour orchestra” of the day care centre and it was suprisingly good and musicians could play in different styles and different instruments. Teacher Ineta was really inspiring. In day care centre they do also much of different handicraft.
The last day, as usually, was the teachers seminar. We were very suprised, that so many people came and that they were so interested about the subject. During event we had a small concert, given by students of Pāvuls Jurjāns Music School, presentations of our partners – Tolaram Centre (Teachers Ene and Koidu) and Resonaari (Markku and Kaarlo). Everybody went home very enspired and we hope to have more such seminars in the future.
Altogether in project there’re planed 3 exchange teacher’s seminars. And the first took place in Helsinki, August 17th – 19th, organized by Resonaari Music School. The idea of seminars is to geather local music teachers to share teaching methodes, ideas, get to know each other, meet collagues, disscuss different subjects. And the first seminar was a very succesful start of fulfiling our idea.
In August 17 – 18 in Helsinki, Resonaari Special Music Centre will take place the first experience exchange workshops. The guests are teachers Anna Petraskevica and Agnese Boitmane from Riga P. Jurjana Music School and Ene Koidu from Tallinn – Tolaram foundation. They will talk about their experiance in work with teaching music to people with special needs, share their ideas and methodes.
